About body composition optimization

The scale is one number. Body composition asks what that number is made of. You can lose weight and lose muscle. You can sit at a “normal” BMI and still carry excess fat, including visceral fat that a bathroom scale will never name. Body composition optimization at Caleyo Wellness uses measurement, including 3D scanning, to follow fat, muscle, visceral fat, and shape.

The scan is information. It does not, by itself, change your body. It becomes useful when protein, strength work, nutrition, and medical care are adjusted because of what it shows. You can use it with a weight plan or without one. People training hard, people in menopause, and people using a GLP-1 all meet weeks when effort and the scale disagree. Composition is how those weeks are read.

Measurements guide the plan. They are not a grade you pass or fail. A single session is a starting picture. The trend across visits, read next to how you train and eat, is what changes the next recommendation.

Who it’s for

A fit is a clinical decision.

This is for you if the scale has become a poor narrator. It drops while your strength drops, or it refuses to move while your clothes and your energy tell another story. You want fat, muscle, and visceral fat distinguished, so a plan does not celebrate the wrong change.

It is also for you if you have no wish for a weight plan and still want a baseline. Recomposition, a check on muscle during training, or a clearer starting point before any medical decision is enough reason to be scanned. A picture with nowhere to go is only a picture. The visit is about what you will do with it.

What it can support

Benefits, without a promise.

  • Fat, muscle, and visceral fat, separated

3D scanning and the measures around it show more than weight. Visceral fat and lean mass can move in opposite directions. Seeing that split changes what you are advised to protect.

  • Useful with or without weight care

Composition can guide medical weight optimization, or it can stand beside training and nutrition alone. You do not need a GLP-1, or any weight plan, to be measured.

  • A guardrail in medication or menopause

When semaglutide, tirzepatide, or a hormonal shift is in the background, tracking muscle helps the plan notice strength. Medication is never assumed just because you were scanned.

  • Numbers that guide, not a score

The results inform protein, resistance training, and follow-up. Trends matter more than one appointment. You are not ranked against a stranger’s printout.

What to expect

Consultation, treatment, and aftercare.

  1. 01

    Why you want the breakdown

Consultation asks what the scale has been doing, how you train, how you eat, and whether weight care, hormones, or a baseline brought you in. The scan is scheduled as a measurement, not as a treatment.

  2. 02

What a 3D scan can and cannot do

The visit uses 3D body composition scanning to look at fat, muscle, visceral fat, and shape. You should hear what the image can support. The scan itself does not alter tissue. How often to repeat it is a clinical decision.

  3. 03

Protein, strength, and the next reading

Follow-up pairs the numbers with what you did: protein, training, sleep, and any medical therapy. If the scan and the scale disagree, the next advice follows the composition. The plan moves with the trend.

How it fits

Part of a root-cause plan.

Root-cause wellness cares about composition because the same pound is not the same physiology. Muscle supports metabolism and function. Visceral fat tracks with metabolic risk in a way other fat may not. A plan that watches only weight can miss both. Caleyo uses the scan to ask a better question: is lean mass being protected, and is the fat that matters the fat that is changing?

The model stays honest about the tool. A 3D scan does not burn fat, build muscle, or replace food and training. It also does not require you to be in medical weight optimization. If you are, the scan keeps GLP-1 care, when that care is appropriate, from becoming a race against the scale. If you are not, it still gives nutrition and strength a target you can see.
