About dermal fillers
A fold beside the mouth that used to show only in a smile, or a cheek that sits flatter than it did, often opens a filler conversation. Dermal fillers are non-surgical injectables used to restore volume, soften folds, and refine contour. Caleyo plans them conservatively, next to skin quality and structure, so the face can still look like you.
In consultation, hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Belotero® may be discussed for that kind of shaping. Radiesse® and Sculptra® belong to a different category: they are collagen-stimulating products, and they are not planned as if they were the same gel. Each product behaves in its own way.
Some changes are seen soon after a hyaluronic acid treatment. Biostimulatory products develop more gradually, which is why they are named here only to keep the categories clear. Filler is not appropriate for everyone, including during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or when there is an infection in the area. Swelling and bruising are common.
Who it’s for
A fit is a clinical decision.
People come in hoping to soften a fold, restore a cheek, define a jawline or chin, or refine the lips, and they want the amount to follow their own anatomy. The question is where volume would help, and where it would only add weight the face does not need.
The conversation also fits someone who has had filler elsewhere and wants a more measured second chapter. Prior product, if you know it, matters. So does a history of swelling that lasted longer than you expected.

Treatment areas

Volume placed where the face lost it
Cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, and folds are the areas commonly reviewed. The aim is contour and softness that still belong to your features.
Hyaluronic acid, chosen by area
Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Belotero® are hyaluronic acid fillers, and they do not all sit in tissue the same way. A lip, a cheek, and a fine fold can call for different handling. Your provider explains which behavior fits the area you care about.
A separate word on biostimulators
Radiesse® and Sculptra® can come up, and they should be understood as a different category. They are collagen-stimulating options, and the change they are planned for is more gradual than the change often seen with hyaluronic acid. If that pace is what you want, it becomes its own plan.
A clear pause for some situations
Filler is not appropriate for everyone. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and an infection in the treatment area are reasons to wait. Swelling and bruising are common even when you are a candidate, and they usually settle over several days. How the face responds is personal.
What to expect
Consultation, treatment, and aftercare.
- 01
Anatomy before a syringe is opened
Consultation looks at proportion, skin quality, and the area you want addressed. Cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, and folds are mapped against how you actually look at rest and in motion. Candidacy, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, and infection, is reviewed before any date is set.
- 02
Placement on the treatment day
On the day, the product you discussed is placed in the areas you agreed on. The work is conservative. You may notice shape early with hyaluronic acid, along with swelling that can mask the final settle.
- 03
Bruises, swelling, and the settle
Swelling and bruising are common and usually ease over several days. Aftercare covers what to avoid, how to sleep, and when to check in if something feels unlike the course you were told to expect. Your provider also reviews how long a given product is typically discussed as lasting.
How it fits
Part of a root-cause plan.
Volume in the face sometimes changes because weight changed, sleep collapsed, or the skin itself lost support. Caleyo’s root-cause habit is to ask which of those is in the room before a syringe answers all of it. Filler can restore a contour. It does not replace a look at nutrition, the pace of weight change, or a medical issue that belongs with adult medicine.
That is why filler planning sits inside a wellness practice. Our providers’ training in adult medicine and dietetics is part of the same office when a face looks deflated after weight loss or when skin quality needs a different tool.
Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Belotero® are the hyaluronic acid fillers discussed for volume, folds, and contour. They do not all behave the same. The area, often cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, or a fold, guides the choice.
They are a different category. Radiesse® and Sculptra® are collagen-stimulating products, and they develop more gradually than hyaluronic acid filler. If that is the pace you want, it is planned on its own terms.
Filler is not appropriate for everyone, including during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or when there is an infection in the treatment area. Candidacy is reviewed before anything is scheduled.
Swelling and bruising are common and usually settle over several days. Some shape may be seen soon with hyaluronic acid, and swelling can make the first days look fuller than the settled result.
No. Caleyo plans filler conservatively, from your anatomy, alongside skin quality and structure. How your face responds is personal.
