About medical weight loss
Medical weight loss at Caleyo Wellness is not a stricter diet and a weekly number. If eating less on willpower were enough, most people who book would already be finished. History, metabolic labs, body composition, protein, meal structure, sleep, and stress are the material of the visit.
The aim is health, function, and the composition of the body. GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide may be part of care when they are clinically appropriate, with attention to side effects and to preserving muscle. They are not automatic. Not everyone needs medication. No plan here promises a number of pounds. What you can sustain, including maintenance, is part of the design from the start.
A lower scale weight that costs you strength is not treated as a success by itself. 3D body composition helps separate fat, muscle, and visceral fat so the plan can see what actually changed. Nutrition stays in the plan whether or not a prescription is written.
Who it’s for
A fit is a clinical decision.
You may have lost and regained weight, or noticed a change after stress, pregnancy, menopause, a medication, or years of poor sleep. Diets have stopped matching the effort you put in. You want a medical and nutrition plan that can explain the reason, not another set of rules that ignores your labs.
You may be considering a GLP-1 and want it used carefully: food still in the plan, muscle protected, side effects discussed, and a path for maintenance that gets reviewed. You may also want weight care with no medication at all. Both are legitimate starting points. The evaluation decides. You are not expected to arrive already sure.
What it can support
Benefits, without a promise.
Medicine and nutrition in one plan
Weight is treated as a medical and nutrition question. Metabolic labs and the way you eat are read together, so the advice is not split across two offices that never compare notes.
Composition beside the scale
3D body composition helps separate fat, muscle, and visceral fat. Protein and resistance training stay in view, so a smaller number is not purchased by giving up strength.
GLP-1 therapy only when it fits
Semaglutide or tirzepatide may support appetite inside a larger plan. Side effects are part of the conversation. If medication does not fit your history, it is not started.
Maintenance designed on purpose
Follow-up covers plateaus, travel, social meals, and the move into keeping the health you gained. The plan is allowed to change as your body and your week change.
What to expect
Consultation, treatment, and aftercare.
- 01
The history the scale cannot tell
Consultation covers weight history, sleep, cravings, medications, schedule, and what feeling better would mean besides a number. Prior diets, and what made them fail, are useful clinical information.
- 02
Labs, composition, and a decision on medication
Metabolic labs may look at blood sugar, insulin resistance, thyroid, hormones, inflammation, and nutrients. 3D body composition and your nutrition history sit beside them. GLP-1 therapy is considered after that picture, not before it.
- 03
Side effects, strength, and keeping the change
Follow-up can be in person or virtual, matched to the support you need. The agenda is protein, muscle, how you feel, and whether the plan still fits. If you are on medication, side effects are reviewed. Maintenance is a phase of care.
How it fits
Part of a root-cause plan.
Root-cause weight care assumes the body is responding to something: insulin resistance, sleep, hormones, medications, muscle lost in earlier diets, or a meal pattern that cannot survive a real week. Medical weight optimization is the name of that care. Caleyo looks for those contributors instead of assigning more restraint. The scale is one output. It is not the diagnosis.
A GLP-1 medication, when it is used, sits inside that model. It can be a tool for appetite. It is not the whole plan. Without nutrition and strength work, people can undereat protein, lose muscle, or feel unsure about what happens next. Muscle and food stay in the plan whether or not a prescription is written. Pounds are not promised, because the same number can describe very different bodies.
Yes. Both names refer to this care: evaluation, labs, nutrition, body composition, and medication only when it is appropriate.
No. GLP-1 medications are considered when they fit the evaluation. Nutrition, muscle, and body composition remain in the plan either way.
No. Progress is discussed through health, function, and composition. Individual responses vary, and a pound target is not a promise the practice makes.
A lower number on the scale is not the same change for everyone. 3D scanning helps show fat, muscle, and visceral fat so strength is not traded away unnoticed.
Follow-up, in person or virtual, covers plateaus, side effects if you are on medication, and maintenance. The plan is revised as your labs and your week change.
