About chemical peels

Rough texture, patchy pigment, and acne that leaves the surface congested do not all call for the same strength of peel. A chemical peel uses a controlled exfoliating solution to change how the skin looks and feels. Caleyo offers medical-grade peels and matches the strength and the formula to your skin, not to a standard menu.

Peels may be considered for acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and uneven tone, from a lighter resurfacing to a deeper renewal. The right peel, the recovery you should plan for, and how it sits with the rest of your skincare are decided in consultation. Sun protection is part of the treatment, not an afterthought.

Not every peel is right for every skin tone or every calendar. A formula that one complexion tolerates can be a poor idea for another, especially where pigment is already uneven. That matching is the medical part of a peel. It is why the first visit is a decision, not a standing order.

The peel menu names gentle options such as the Sensi Peel, a mild anti-inflammatory peel for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin, and the Green Tea Peel, a hydrating peel rich in antioxidants. For pigment, VI Peel Precision Plus is a pigmentation-correcting peel for melasma, sun damage, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, beside the PCA Bright & Even Peel. For acne, the menu includes VI Peel Purify Precision Plus, for active acne and post-acne scars, and the Mandelic Peel, for oily, acne-prone skin and dark spots.

Collagen-stimulating and anti-aging peels on the same menu include PRX, a needle-free treatment formulated with 33% TCA and hydrogen peroxide that stimulates collagen without peeling; the Cleopatra Peel, a lactic-acid peel; BioRePeel, a biphasic peel that renews the skin while keeping it hydrated; and VI Peel Advanced, for deeper lines and collagen support. VI Peel Body is a professional-grade body peel for all skin types and tones, to reduce pigmentation, clear body acne, fade surgical scars, and smooth stretch marks.

BioRePeelCl3 uses six acids, four amino acids (glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and arginine), and vitamins B2 and C. BioRePeel Blue is TCA 35% and BioRePeel Gold is TCA 50%, each with lactobionic, salicylic, tartaric, citric, and aminobutyric (GABA) acids. The peel suits all Fitzpatrick skin types, including sensitive skin, with no needles, no frosting, no photosensitivity, use in every season, and no ammonia. Concerns include lines and wrinkles, laxity, pigmentation, sun damage, rough skin, acne, open pores, eye bags, aging hands, dark elbows, underarms, and intimate skin, and stretch marks.

Who it’s for

A fit is a clinical decision.

Come in if texture, brightness, acne, or pigment is the reason you keep changing products at home. You might have tried acids on your own and stalled, or you might be new to resurfacing and want someone to choose the depth. Bring the names of what you use, including retinoids, because they change what can be applied.

The visit is also for someone whose work or plans cannot absorb a long peel. Lighter and deeper options exist, and they ask for different aftercare. If you cannot stay out of unprotected sun, or you have a trip that will not allow flaking, say so. The calendar is part of candidacy.

Products we use

Three BioRePeelCl3 Blue face vials, one lying in water
  • A formula matched to the skin

Medical-grade strength is chosen for your skin type, your concern, and the recovery you can actually plan. A standard menu peel would ignore that. The consultation is where the formula is narrowed.

  • Acne, pigment, and surface texture

Acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and uneven tone are the concerns peels are considered for. Texture and brightness sit in the same conversation. One peel does not treat every item on that list equally well.

  • From a light refresh to deeper renewal

Some peels are a lighter resurfacing. Others go further and ask more of the days afterward. Your provider describes which end of that range is even on the table. Deeper is not automatically better.

  • Sun protection as part of the peel

Aftercare and sunscreen are reviewed before treatment, because a peel without protection can work against the reason you came in. Pigment in particular can react to light. Not every tone should be offered every depth.

The peel

  1. 01

    Matching depth, formula, and calendar

Consultation looks at skin tone, acne or pigment history, the products you use, and the days you can give to healing. A peel that does not fit your schedule is the wrong peel. You leave knowing what was recommended and what was declined.

  2. 02

    The peel appointment

On the day, the chosen medical-grade solution is applied in a controlled way. Sensation during a peel varies with the formula. You will be told what the skin may look like as you walk out, which is not the same for a light peel and a deeper one.

  3. 03

Flaking, protection, and the week after

Recovery depends on the peel. Dryness, redness, or visible flaking can be part of it. Sun protection and the products to pause, which may include retinoids and acids, are spelled out before you start. How the skin looks through healing is individual.

How it fits

Part of a root-cause plan.

Pigment and acne often have a trigger sitting under the surface you want peeled: sun habits, a hormone pattern, a product that is irritating you, or inflammation that keeps returning. A peel can resurface in a controlled way. Caleyo’s root-cause question is what keeps recreating the concern after the skin has turned over.

That may mean the peel is one visit inside a longer plan. Nutrition, hormones, and a simpler home routine can matter as much as the solution on the face. If a facial, a change in products, or a medical visit would do more than another layer of acid, that is the recommendation. The peel is matched to the person, including the tone of the skin and the life around it.
